Commitment to the Integrity and Permanence of the Scholarly Record
Our Commitment to the Scholarly Record
Safety and Health for Medical Workers (SHMW) is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and preserving the integrity of the scholarly content it publishes. To this end, SHMW participates in the CrossMark initiative, a multi-publisher service from CrossRef.
CrossMark provides a persistent, standardized mechanism for readers to locate the definitive published version of an article—the Version of Record (VoR)—and to be informed of any subsequent updates or changes to that content. The presence of the CrossMark logo on an SHMW article signifies our commitment to maintaining this content and to alerting readers of any changes.
How CrossMark Works
To verify the status of any article published by SHMW, readers can follow these steps:
- Locate the CrossMark logo on the PDF or HTML version of the article.
- Click on the logo.
- You will be redirected to a dedicated metadata page on the CrossRef website.
This page provides the current status of the article and a comprehensive publication history. If any updates (such as corrections or retractions) exist, they will be listed there, ensuring readers always have access to the most authoritative and current version of the scholarly work.
Policy on Content Updates and Corrections
SHMW is committed to correcting errors or inaccuracies in published articles in a timely and transparent manner. We will use CrossMark to notify readers of significant changes that affect the interpretation or integrity of the published work.
Corrections
Corrections are issued to rectify significant errors or omissions that impact the scientific integrity of an article.
- Corrigendum: A notice of a significant error or omission introduced by the author(s) that impacts the article's data, interpretation, or conclusions. The corrigendum, authored by the original authors, will be published and bi-directionally linked to the original article.
- Erratum: A notice of a significant error introduced by the publisher (e.g., during the typesetting or production process) that affects the article's integrity, data, or readability. The erratum will be published and bi-directionally linked to the original article.
Retractions
A retraction is the formal withdrawal of a published article. It is enacted in cases of serious scientific misconduct (e.g., data fabrication, falsification, plagiarism) or pervasive, unintentional error that fundamentally invalidates the study's conclusions. The retraction notice will clearly state the reasons for the retraction and will be linked to the original article. The original article will remain in the public domain but will be clearly watermarked as "Retracted."
Other Updates
- Addendum: A notice that provides additional information essential to the understanding of the article (e.g., new data, supplementary context, or clarifications) that has become available after publication. An addendum does not contradict the original article but offers supplementary context.
- Editor's Note: A formal communication from the journal's Editor-in-Chief to provide context, clarification, or express editorial concern regarding a published article.
Preservation of the Scholarly Record
SHMW, published by Inovasi Analisis Data, is committed to the indefinite preservation of all published content. Any updates to the scholarly record, as outlined above, will be permanently linked to the original article via its Digital Object Identifier (DOI). This ensures that the publication history is transparent, traceable, and permanently accessible to the global academic community.
Ensuring Reader and Author Trust
By implementing the CrossMark service, Safety and Health for Medical Workers (SHMW) demonstrates its unwavering commitment to academic transparency, accountability, and the integrity of the scholarly record. We provide researchers, institutions, funding bodies, and readers with the confidence that the content they cite and use is accurate, verified, and current.
