1) Plagiarism & Text Recycling
- Manuscripts must be original, not published or under consideration elsewhere; sources must be cited accurately.
- Similarity is screened using detection software. Indicative threshold: ≤ ~15% overall (excluding references and standard methods with proper citation); higher matches are evaluated case-by-case.
- Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, redundant/duplicate publication, and undisclosed translation are prohibited.
2) Authorship & Contributorship
- Authorship follows ICMJE criteria (substantial contribution; drafting/revision; final approval; accountability).
- CRediT taxonomy is required to delineate author roles (e.g., Conceptualization, Methodology, Data Curation, Formal Analysis, Writing, Supervision, Funding Acquisition).
- Post-submission authorship changes require written consent from all authors, justification, and editorial approval.
3) Conflicts of Interest & Funding
- All authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose financial or personal relationships that could be perceived to influence the work.
- Report funding sources and sponsor roles. SHMW may request the ICMJE COI form where appropriate.
- Editors/reviewers with conflicts are recused from handling/reviewing a manuscript.
4) Peer Review & Reviewer Conduct
- SHMW operates double-blind peer review, typically with at least two independent experts.
- Reviewers provide objective, constructive, and timely reports; treat submissions as confidential; and must not use unpublished information for personal advantage.
- Concerns about ethics or possible misconduct should be reported confidentially to the editor.
5) Data Integrity, Availability & Reproducibility
- Report methods and results transparently to allow verification and replication.
- Include a Data Availability Statement (repository/DOI, controlled access, or justified restrictions).
- Retain raw data/code/analysis scripts for a reasonable period (typically ≥ 5 years) subject to legal/ethical limits.
- Fabrication, falsification, inappropriate manipulation, or selective reporting constitute misconduct.
6) Human/Animal Ethics & Consent
- Human research requires IRB/ethics approval (board name & approval ID) and informed consent procedures.
- Clinical trials should be prospectively registered (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov, WHO ICTRP) with registration numbers stated.
- Case reports/identifiable data require explicit patient/guardian consent; personal identifiers must be removed.
- Animal studies must follow recognized welfare guidelines and include ethics approval details.
7) Use of AI Tools
- Generative AI or language models cannot be authors and cannot take responsibility for the work.
- Limited use (e.g., language polishing, code snippets) must be disclosed with tool name/version and scope; authors remain fully accountable.
- Do not upload confidential manuscripts or sensitive data to public AI services. Editors/reviewers must not process submissions via public AI tools.
8) Image Integrity & Figures
- Images must faithfully represent original data. Adjustments (e.g., brightness/contrast) are permitted only if applied uniformly without obscuring or altering information.
- Splicing, duplication, or inappropriate enhancement is prohibited and may lead to rejection, correction, or retraction.
9) Corrections, Retractions & Expressions of Concern
- Authors must promptly notify SHMW of substantive errors found post-publication.
- SHMW follows COPE Retraction Guidelines. Notices (corrigenda, retractions, expressions of concern) are openly accessible and linked to the affected article.
10) Confidentiality & Privacy
- Editors, reviewers, and staff must keep submissions and related communications confidential.
- Personal data are processed in accordance with applicable privacy laws and handled with due care.
11) Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
- SHMW promotes equitable inclusion in authorship, editorial roles, and reviewer selection.
- Decisions are based solely on scientific merit and scope fit; discrimination or bias is not tolerated.
12) Complaints, Appeals & Misconduct Investigations
- Appeals must present substantive methodological or interpretive grounds and are considered by an independent editor.
- Allegations of misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data manipulation, authorship disputes) are investigated per COPE flowcharts; SHMW may contact institutions/funders.
- Possible sanctions: rejection, retraction, time-limited submission bans, and notifications to relevant bodies.
- Submit concerns to: admin1@analysisdata.co.id (cc: shmw@analysisdata.co.id).
13) Editorial Independence
- Editorial decisions are independent of the publisher and free from commercial or political influence.
- Editors/reviewers recuse themselves when conflicts could compromise impartiality.
14) Continuous Improvement
- Policies are periodically reviewed and updated to reflect evolving best practices. Feedback from authors, reviewers, and readers is welcome.
Standards & Guidance: COPE Core Practices, ICMJE Recommendations, WAME Policies. *The similarity threshold is indicative; editorial assessment considers context and scholarly norms.
