Open Access Statement
SHMW is fully committed to open access publishing, ensuring that every article is permanently and freely available to the global community without subscription or paywall barriers. Our policy follows international best practices (COPE, BOAI) and supports transparency, accessibility, and long-term preservation of scholarly work.
1. Open Access Model
- We adopt the Gold Open Access model.
- All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.
- This license allows use, distribution, adaptation, and reuse with proper attribution and sharing under the same terms.
2. Benefits of Open Access
- Visibility & Impact: Articles are more widely read and cited.
- Equitable Access: Knowledge is freely available to researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and the public worldwide.
- Collaboration: Facilitates multidisciplinary exchange in occupational safety, infection control, ergonomics, mental health, and related fields.
- Societal Benefit: Supports evidence-based practices that protect medical workers and improve healthcare systems.
3. Author Responsibilities
- Deposit the published version in institutional/subject repositories or personal websites with DOI and license notice.
- Promote the work via academic networks, conferences, and social platforms to enhance reach and impact.
- Sign the journal’s copyright & open access agreement upon acceptance.
4. Archiving & Preservation
- All published content is assigned a DOI via Crossref (prefix: 10.69725) for persistent citation.
- Long-term preservation is supported through OJS-compatible mechanisms (e.g., LOCKSS/CLOCKSS, PKP Preservation Network) where applicable.
- Recommended data repositories include
Mendeley Data and institutional archives such as Neliti Archive .
5. Compliance with Funder & Institutional Policies
- SHMW complies with international open access mandates and institutional requirements.
- Authors are responsible for ensuring compliance with their funders’ specific policies.
- Metadata follows OAI-PMH / Dublin Core standards to guarantee interoperability and discoverability.
6. Repository & Self-Archiving
Authors are permitted to deposit:
- Preprint: prior to submission, on recognized preprint servers.
- Accepted Manuscript (Postprint): immediately after acceptance.
- Version of Record (VoR): in institutional or subject repositories with a citation to the VoR DOI. No embargo applies.
7. Licensing & Reuse
- Reuse is permitted under CC BY-SA 4.0 with proper attribution.
- Commercial use is allowed, provided derivatives are shared under the same license terms.
- Authors must ensure that third-party content (images, figures, datasets) carries appropriate permissions.
8. Indexing & Discoverability
SHMW enriches all publications with machine-readable metadata and assigns persistent identifiers (DOI) to maximize visibility. The journal pursues inclusion in credible abstracting and indexing services to ensure global discoverability and long-term accessibility.
