Authors are required to use the official SELI template files to ensure consistency, metadata completeness, double-blind review compliance, and smooth production using professional journal layout standards.

Important: LaTeX / LuaLaTeX Submission Standards

SELI uses a professional production workflow to support consistent article layout, DOI-ready metadata, and long-term digital archiving. Authors using LaTeX are required to follow the component-based structure provided in the official kit.

  • Do not modify class or production files: Authors should not change journal style files unless instructed by the editorial team.
  • Edit manuscript components only: Use the provided files for title, abstract, sections, tables, figures, and references.
  • Upload compiled output: Authors must upload a PDF version together with source files for editorial screening and similarity checking.
  • Figures and tables: Use clear file names and provide high-resolution figures where applicable.
  • References: Use BibTeX or reference manager export when available.

Required Submission Package

1. Cover Letter Required

A formal letter addressed to the Editor-in-Chief, explaining originality, contribution, scope relevance, and publication statement.

2. Blind Manuscript Double-Blind Review

The main manuscript must not contain author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or any information that can identify the author(s).

3. Title Page & Author Metadata Author Identity

A separate file containing article title, author names, ORCID ID, affiliation, email, corresponding author, funding statement, conflict of interest, and acknowledgments if applicable.

4. Statement Letter / Copyright Agreement Ethics

Includes originality statement, authorship contribution, copyright agreement, conflict of interest disclosure, AI declaration, and ethical responsibility.

5. Similarity / Turnitin Report Screening

Authors are encouraged to submit a similarity report. SELI recommends a similarity score of ≤ 12%, excluding references and common phrases.

AI Usage Note: AI tools may be used only for grammar, clarity, translation, and language polishing. AI must not be used to create fake data, fabricated references, false citations, unsupported theories, or manipulated results. Any AI assistance must be declared in the statement letter.

Recommended Manuscript Structure

  1. Title
  2. Abstract — objective, method, findings, and contribution
  3. Keywords — 4 to 6 keywords
  4. Introduction — phenomenon, research gap, novelty, objective, and contribution
  5. Literature Review — theoretical foundation, prior studies, and hypothesis development if applicable
  6. Research Method — design, data, sample, object, variables, instrument, and analysis technique
  7. Results and Discussion — findings, interpretation, comparison with previous studies, and implications
  8. Conclusion — key findings, limitations, recommendations, and contribution
  9. References — APA 7th edition, preferably managed using Mendeley or Zotero

Pre-Submission Checklist

  • ✔ Scope: The manuscript is relevant to sharia economic law, Islamic finance, Islamic economics, halal industry, governance, or legal innovation.
  • ✔ Template: The manuscript follows the official SELI article template.
  • ✔ Blind Review: The main manuscript does not contain author identity.
  • ✔ Author Metadata: ORCID ID and complete affiliation are included in the title page.
  • ✔ References: References are traceable, relevant, and formatted in APA 7th edition.
  • ✔ Ethics: Conflict of interest, authorship contribution, and AI usage are declared where applicable.
  • ✔ Similarity: Similarity report is prepared if required by the editorial team.
