Author Guidelines
Thank you for choosing Advances in Public Law and Crime (PLICE) for submitting your research. To maintain the highest standards of academic publishing, we require authors to adhere strictly to the following guidelines.
1. Submission Requirements

Originality: All manuscripts must be original and unpublished. Manuscripts must not be under review or accepted for publication elsewhere. PLICE uses plagiarism detection software, and submissions found to have plagiarized content will be rejected.

Language: Manuscripts must be written in English. Authors should ensure their writing is clear, concise, and grammatically correct. We recommend using professional language-editing services if necessary.

File Format: Submit your manuscript in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). Ensure that the file is not locked or password-protected.

Length: The recommended word count is 5,000-8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures. Longer manuscripts may be accepted upon prior approval from the editor.
2. Manuscript Structure
Your manuscript should be structured as follows:
Title Page:
- Title: Clear, concise, and descriptive. No abbreviations should be used in the title.
- Author Information: Provide full names, institutional affiliations, and email addresses of all authors. Indicate the corresponding author.
- Keywords: Include 3-6 keywords that describe the core topics of the manuscript.
Abstract:
- Provide a concise abstract of 200-250 words. It should summarize the research objective, methods, main findings, and conclusions. Avoid references or undefined abbreviations.
Main Text:

Introduction:
- Introduce the background, research problem, objectives, and significance of the study. State the research gap clearly and explain how your research addresses it.

Literature Review:
- Summarize previous research in the field and position your work in relation to this literature. Clearly identify the novelty and contributions of your research.

Methodology:
- Describe the research design, data collection methods, and analytical techniques in detail. Ensure enough information is provided to allow replication of your study.

Results:
- Present the findings of your research in a clear and logical manner. Use tables and figures as necessary, ensuring they are adequately labeled and referenced in the text.

Discussion:
- Discuss the implications of your findings, compare them with previous studies, and explain the significance for public law and crime. Limit speculation to areas where it is supported by the data.

Conclusion:
- Summarize the key findings of the study, its contributions, and potential limitations. Suggest directions for future research.

Acknowledgments:
- Recognize any funding sources or individuals who contributed to the research but are not authors.

References:
- Follow the APA 7th Edition citation style for all references. Ensure all cited works are relevant and up-to-date.
3. Figures, Tables, and Supplementary Material

Figures: Ensure that all figures are clear, high-resolution, and embedded in the manuscript. Provide descriptive captions below each figure.

Tables: Present tables with a clear title and ensure that they are cited in the text. Tables should be self-explanatory and not duplicate information presented in the text.

Supplementary Materials: If additional data or materials (such as datasets, appendices) are critical for understanding your work, you may include them as supplementary files. These will be available online but should not be included in the manuscript text.
4. Ethics and Consent

Ethical Approval: Research involving human subjects or animals must comply with institutional, national, and international ethics guidelines. Include a statement about ethics approval in the manuscript.

Informed Consent: Authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained from all participants in research involving humans.

Conflict of Interest: Authors are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest.
5. Peer Review Process
PLICE operates a double-blind peer review process to ensure impartiality:
- The identities of both the authors and reviewers are concealed.
- Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and ability to provide constructive feedback.
- The typical timeline for the review process is 4-6 weeks. However, this may vary depending on reviewer availability.
6. Open Access and Licensing
PLICE follows an open access publishing model, providing free and immediate access to all published content to readers globally. Authors retain copyright to their work and grant PLICE a license to publish it under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license. This license allows others to remix, adapt, and build upon the work for any purpose, even commercially, as long as they credit the original authors and license their new creations under the same terms.
7. Submission and Publication Fees
PLICE does not charge any submission fees. Upon acceptance, authors are required to pay a publication fee, which covers the cost of managing the editorial and peer-review process, typesetting, and open access distribution. Fee waivers or reductions are available for authors from low-income countries.
8. Indexing and Archiving
PLICE aims for progressive indexing in reputable databases to increase the visibility of your research. The journal is currently under submission for indexing in:

- Index Copernicus
All published articles are permanently archived for long-term availability.
