3. Review Criteria

Reviewers should assess the manuscript based on the following key aspects:

a. Originality & Significance

  • Does the manuscript present new insights, theories, or methodologies in taxation?
  • Is the research topic relevant and impactful in the field?

b. Methodology & Data Analysis

  • Are the research methods appropriate and well-explained?
  • Is the data analysis rigorous, transparent, and reproducible?

c. Clarity & Organization

  • Is the manuscript well-structured, clear, and logically organized?
  • Are tables, figures, and references relevant and correctly formatted?

d. Theoretical & Practical Contribution

  • Does the study provide theoretical advancements or practical implications for policymakers, tax authorities, or businesses?

4. Ethical Considerations

  • Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers should disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence their evaluation.
  • Fair & Unbiased Review: Avoid biases based on nationality, institutional affiliation, or personal views.
  • Anonymity & Double-Blind Review: JIPI follows a double-blind review process—both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

5. Review Process & Recommendation

Reviewers must select one of the following recommendations:

  1. Accept as it is (minor or no revisions required)
  2. Accept with minor revisions (minor issues need correction)
  3. Revise and resubmit (substantial revisions required, re-evaluation needed)
  4. Reject (fundamental flaws or lack of contribution)

A detailed review report must be submitted alongside the recommendation, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and suggested improvements.

  • Revision process: 30 days
  • Final decision and publication: 30 days
  • Total manuscript processing time: 90 days
