Plagiarism Policy AMI
Advances in Management Innovation (AMI) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism. This policy is aligned with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the ethical publishing practices of major academic publishers (Elsevier, Wiley, Springer).
1) Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is defined as presenting another person’s work, ideas, data, or words as one’s own without proper acknowledgment. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Verbatim copying of text from other sources without quotation and citation.
- Paraphrasing substantial portions of another’s work without credit.
- Using images, tables, figures, or datasets without permission or attribution.
- Self-plagiarism — reusing substantial parts of one’s own previously published work without disclosure.
2) Plagiarism Screening
Every manuscript submitted to AMI is screened using industry-recognized similarity detection tools such as Turnitin and/or iThenticate before peer review.
- Similarity Index Threshold: A maximum of 20% overall similarity is allowed, excluding references and quotations.
- Similarity in any single source should not exceed 2–3% without proper citation.
- All forms of detected plagiarism will be documented and reviewed by the editorial board.
3) Actions and Consequences
- Minor plagiarism (e.g., improper citation, small copied sections): Returned to authors for immediate correction before review.
- Moderate to severe plagiarism (e.g., large copied sections, unattributed sources): Immediate rejection of the manuscript and possible blacklisting of authors for up to 3 years.
- Post-publication plagiarism detection: Article retraction, notification to authors’ institutions, and public posting of the retraction notice.
4) Author Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their work is free of plagiarism. Proper citation of sources is mandatory. It is strongly recommended that authors perform a similarity check before submission.
AMI is committed to maintaining originality and scholarly integrity. By submitting to AMI, authors acknowledge and agree to this plagiarism policy.
