Publication Process
Publication Process
Applied Health Promotion Science (AHPROCE)
The publication process of AHPROCE ensures fairness, transparency, and efficiency at every stage. The workflow is aligned with COPE standards, enabling authors, reviewers, and readers to trust the integrity of published research.
1. Manuscript Submission
- All manuscripts must be submitted via the online OJS system, following the Author Guidelines.
- Upon submission, the corresponding author receives an automated confirmation email with a manuscript ID.
- The submission package must include: manuscript file (blinded), separate title page, figures/tables, and supplementary data where relevant.
2. Initial Editorial Screening
- Manuscripts are screened for scope, compliance with formatting, originality (Turnitin, ≤15%), and adherence to ethical standards.
- Papers outside the scope or with critical deficiencies may be desk-rejected at this stage.
3. Double-Blind Peer Review
- Manuscripts passing screening enter double-blind review, where author and reviewer identities remain concealed.
- At least two independent reviewers are assigned based on expertise and absence of conflicts of interest.
- Reviewers evaluate originality, methodology, significance, ethical compliance, and clarity.
- Standard review timeframe: 2–4 weeks. Extensions are granted in special cases.
4. Editorial Decision
- Accept — ready for publication with no further changes.
- Minor Revisions — small edits required; authors are given 7–14 days.
- Major Revisions — substantial changes; resubmission undergoes additional review.
- Reject — unsuitable for publication, with feedback provided.
5. Revision & Resubmission
- Authors must submit a revised manuscript and a response-to-reviewers letter addressing each comment.
- Revised submissions may undergo further review if changes are major.
6. Final Decision
- The editorial board issues the final acceptance or rejection after revisions are completed.
- Accepted papers are queued for the upcoming issue, following production order.
7. Copyediting & Proofreading
- Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting for clarity, grammar, formatting, and reference style (APA 7th).
- Authors receive proofs to review within 3–5 days; this is the last opportunity for corrections.
8. Publication
- AHPROCE publishes quarterly (March, June, September, December).
- Articles are published online first, assigned DOI, and deposited into indexing databases and repositories.
- All content is Open Access (CC BY-SA 4.0).
9. Post-Publication
- Authors are encouraged to disseminate their work via institutional platforms, social media, and academic networks.
- Post-publication discussions, comments, and corrections follow COPE guidelines.
- Authors may be asked to deposit datasets or supplementary materials in public repositories.
