Abstract

This study delves into the cultural and gastronomic significance of Luti Gendang, a local culinary delicacy, within the context of tourism attraction in Batam City. Drawing upon qualitative descriptive research methods and gastronomy theory, the research explores the origins, preparation techniques, and sensory experiences associated with Luti Gendang. The study also investigates the potential of Luti Gendang as a tourist attraction, considering its unique blend of flavors, cultural resonance, and adherence to culinary traditions. Through community involvement initiatives and methodological innovations, the research aims to promote entrepreneurial drive, enthusiasm, and appreciation for local culinary heritage among participants. The findings underscore the importance of preserving culinary traditions while embracing innovation to cater to evolving consumer preferences and enhance the tourism landscape. Overall, Luti Gendang emerges as a symbol of Batam City's rich culinary heritage, offering visitors a sensory journey and cultural experience that transcends mere gustatory delight.
