Advances Psychology Innovation (APSY) is committed to maintaining the highest academic and ethical standards through a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Reviewers play a vital role in this mission by contributing their expertise, professionalism, and scholarly judgment to ensure the quality, integrity, and relevance of published research in psychology.

Role Icon Role of the Reviewer

Reviewers serve as subject-matter experts who provide critical and constructive evaluations of submitted manuscripts. Their assessments help ensure:

  • Scientific originality and academic contribution
  • Methodological rigor and analytical soundness
  • Clarity, coherence, and relevance to the journal’s aims and scope

Reviewers act as guardians of scholarly integrity, supporting authors in improving their manuscripts while helping the journal maintain its academic reputation and publication standards.

  • Fairness and Objectivity: Manuscripts must be evaluated solely on scholarly merit, without discrimination, personal bias, or inappropriate criticism.
  • Timeliness: Reviewers are expected to complete their reviews within the agreed review period, generally within 2–3 weeks, or promptly inform the editorial office if an extension is required.
  • Conflict of Interest Disclosure: Reviewers should decline invitations if there is any conflict of interest that may affect their impartiality.

Feedback Icon Providing Effective Reviews

  • Use clear, precise, and professional language.
  • Support critiques with examples, explanations, or references when appropriate.
  • Clearly distinguish between major concerns and minor editorial suggestions.
  • Avoid vague or overly general comments; refer to specific sections, concepts, or methodological issues whenever possible.

Example Comment:
Instead of: "The discussion is weak."
Try: "The discussion section would benefit from stronger engagement with recent psychological literature on intervention outcomes. Consider incorporating more recent empirical studies to strengthen the interpretation of findings."
