Editorial Workflow Overview

Every manuscript submitted to Advances Psychology Innovation (APSY) undergoes a rigorous editorial screening and peer-review process to ensure scientific quality, relevance, and academic integrity in the field of psychology. The entire workflow is managed through the OJS platform to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficient editorial communication.

Step-by-Step Stages

Submission & Pre-Check

Duration: 1-7 Days

The author submits the manuscript through OJS. The editorial team conducts an initial screening (desk review) to assess:

Alignment with APSY’s scope in psychology and innovation.
Completeness of mandatory submission files.
Compliance with formatting and ethical requirements.
Similarity and AI screening according to journal policy.

*Manuscripts that fail this stage may be returned or declined before peer review.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Duration: 4-8 Weeks

Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in psychology or related fields.

Anonymity: Reviewer and author identities remain concealed.
Criteria: Originality, theoretical contribution, methodology, analysis, and relevance.
Reviewers provide recommendations: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.

Author Revision

Duration: 2-4 Weeks

Authors revise the manuscript based on reviewer feedback and editorial recommendations.

A detailed Response to Reviewers document should accompany the revised manuscript.
Manuscripts requiring major revision may undergo an additional round of review.

Editorial Decision & Acceptance

Duration: 1-2 Weeks

Based on the revised submission and reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final editorial decision.

If accepted, the author receives a formal acceptance notification.
The APC process and publication preparation are initiated.

Production & Publication

Duration: 2-3 Weeks

After acceptance, the manuscript enters the production phase before official publication.

Copyediting: Language and style refinement.
Layout Editing: Formatting into the final publication version.
Proofreading: Final author approval of the galley proof.
Publishing: DOI activation and online publication in the scheduled issue.
