Advances in Accounting Innovation (AAI) is committed to the principles of open access publishing by providing immediate, free, and permanent access to its published scholarly content. The journal supports the global dissemination of accounting knowledge, innovation, and professional practice by removing access barriers for readers, researchers, educators, practitioners, policymakers, and the wider academic community.
1. Immediate and Unrestricted Access
All articles published in AAI are made freely available online immediately after publication. Readers are allowed to access, read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of articles without subscription barriers, institutional login requirements, or paywall restrictions.
2. Author Rights and Copyright
Authors retain the copyright of their published work while granting AAI the right of first publication. Authors may share, archive, distribute, and reuse their work in accordance with the applicable open access license, provided that proper attribution to the original publication is maintained.
3. Creative Commons License
All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This license allows users to share, copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given and derivative works are distributed under the same license.
License Requirement: Users must provide proper attribution to the author(s), cite the original publication, include a link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made.
4. Article Processing Charge Transparency
AAI applies a transparent Article Processing Charge (APC), when applicable, to support editorial management, peer review administration, professional copyediting, layout editing, DOI registration, metadata management, website maintenance, digital preservation, and long-term open access availability. All publication charges are clearly communicated to authors before publication.
5. Ethical Open Access Publishing
AAI supports responsible open access publishing based on transparency, editorial independence, peer review integrity, authorship accountability, conflict of interest disclosure, and respect for research ethics. The journal’s editorial process is designed to ensure that publication decisions are based on academic merit, originality, methodological quality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
6. COPE-Aligned Publication Integrity
AAI is committed to maintaining publication integrity in accordance with recognized principles of scholarly publishing ethics, including guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal addresses concerns related to plagiarism, duplicate publication, authorship disputes, conflicts of interest, data integrity, peer review manipulation, corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions fairly and transparently.
7. AI-Assisted Content Transparency
In line with responsible scholarly communication, authors must disclose the use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies when such tools contribute to manuscript preparation beyond basic grammar, spelling, formatting, or reference management. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, ethical compliance, and integrity of all submitted and published content.
8. Archiving and Long-Term Accessibility
AAI supports the long-term accessibility and preservation of published scholarly content through digital archiving practices, metadata management, DOI assignment, and development of indexing visibility. These practices are intended to ensure that published articles remain discoverable, citable, accessible, and preserved for future academic use.
9. Global Knowledge Dissemination
Through open-access publishing, AAI promotes greater visibility, increased citation potential, academic collaboration, professional engagement, and knowledge transfer in accounting and related fields. The journal encourages the responsible use and dissemination of research to support innovation, transparency, and evidence-based decision-making.
