Publication Ethics & Research Integrity Statement
Last updated: 18 December 2025
Guiding Principle: The Journal Innovation Biology Research (IBR) is founded on the principles of transparency, scientific rigor, and accountability. Our foremost commitment is to safeguard the integrity of biological research and the scholarly record. We believe that ethical publishing is the cornerstone of scientific progress and public trust. This document outlines the comprehensive policies and standards of conduct expected from all participants in the IBR publication process.

1.0 Journal Governance and Management
1.1 Editorial Independence
The Editor-in-Chief (Dr. Mingle A Pistanty, M.Pd) and Co-Editor-in-Chief (Edoward Krisson Raunsay, S. Pd., M.si) have full authority over the entire editorial content. Editorial decisions are based exclusively on the scholarly merit and biological significance of manuscripts and are never influenced by commercial interests or the publisher (PT. Inovasi Analisis Data).
1.2 Editorial Board
Members of the Editorial Board are biological experts appointed based on their academic contribution. A transparent process is in place for handling conflicts of interest for any board member involved in a manuscript submission.
2.0 Responsibilities of Authors
2.1 Reporting Standards & Originality
Authors must present an accurate account of their biological research. All submissions must be original work. All manuscripts submitted to IBR are screened for plagiarism and text similarity using industry-standard software (e.g., Turnitin).
2.2 Authorship and Contributorship
Authorship credit must be based on substantial contributions. IBR encourages the use of the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) framework to define each author's role clearly.
2.3 Ethical Approval (Animal & Human Subjects)
For biological research involving human or animal subjects, authors must state that the research was conducted in accordance with ethical standards and provide the name of the ethics committee that approved the study.
2.4 Data Sharing and FAIR Principles
IBR supports Open Access Gold and encourages authors to deposit biological data in trusted public repositories adhering to the FAIR Principles.
2.5 Use of Generative AI
AI tools cannot be listed as an author. Authors must disclose the use of AI in the manuscript and bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the content.
3.0 The Peer Review Process
3.1 Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations. They must maintain confidentiality and disclose any potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review invitation.
3.2 Double-Anonymous Peer Review
IBR employs a double-anonymous peer review process, ensuring that the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed from each other to maintain objectivity.
4.0 Handling Allegations of Research Misconduct
IBR takes all allegations of misconduct seriously, including data fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism. We follow the procedural guidelines recommended by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).
5.0 Post-Publication Policies
5.1 Corrections and Retractions
If errors are discovered post-publication, IBR will publish a Correction notice. In cases of proven misconduct or unreliable biological data, the article will be retracted in accordance with COPE guidelines.
6.0 Digital Archiving and Preservation
To ensure long-term preservation, IBR content is preserved through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) and the National Library of Indonesia. This ensures that biological research findings remain accessible in perpetuity.
By submitting a manuscript to Innovation Biology Research (IBR), all authors agree to uphold these ethical standards. It is our collective responsibility to ensure the integrity of biological science.
