Copyright Policy

Advanced Forensic Accounting Innovation (ADFAN) advocates for the rights of authors and the broad dissemination of forensic accounting research. Unlike many traditional journals, ADFAN does not require authors to transfer their copyright to the journal. As a Diamond Open Access publication, all content is freely available without subscription or payment barriers.

Authors Retain Full Copyright

Authors who publish with ADFAN retain the full copyright to their work. They grant ADFAN a non-exclusive license to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher. This model ensures that authors maintain complete control over their intellectual property — including forensic methodologies, analytical frameworks, and original data — while allowing the journal to disseminate the work globally without restriction.

Creative Commons License

CC BY-SA 4.0

All articles published in ADFAN are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This license is particularly suited for forensic accounting research as it ensures proper attribution while allowing adaptation for investigative, educational, and regulatory purposes. The license allows others to:

✔ You are free to:
  • Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format, including for forensic training and professional development.
  • Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial forensic applications and investigative practice.
⚠ Under the following terms:
  • Attribution: You must give appropriate credit to the original author(s) and ADFAN, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.
  • ShareAlike: If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 license as the original.

  • To present the work at conferences, seminars, and professional training sessions.
  • To reuse portions of the article in future works (e.g., dissertations, books, forensic manuals).
  • To grant further licenses to third parties, provided the original ADFAN publication is properly cited.
  • To apply the forensic methodologies described in the article in professional practice without restriction.

  • To enforce the CC BY-SA 4.0 license on behalf of the author in case of misuse or misattribution.

Self-Archiving Policy

ADFAN fully supports Green Open Access and self-archiving policies.
