Plagiarism Policy for Journal of Economic Business Innovation (JEBI)
Journal of Economic Business Innovation (JEBI) maintains a stringent policy against plagiarism to ensure the integrity and originality of the scholarly work published in the journal.
Definition of Plagiarism: Plagiarism involves the use of another person's ideas, processes, results, or words without proper acknowledgment. It includes:
- Direct copying of text, figures, or data from another source without proper citation.
- Paraphrasing substantial parts of another's work without credit.
- Reusing one’s own previously published work without citation (self-plagiarism).
Detection and Prevention:
- All submitted manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin, to identify any potential overlap with existing published materials. Manuscripts with a similarity index of more than 12% will be rejected or returned for revision.
- Editors and reviewers are vigilant in identifying potential plagiarism during the review process.
Actions Against Plagiarism:
- If plagiarism is detected at any stage before publication, the manuscript is immediately rejected.
- If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the following actions are taken:
- The published article is retracted.
- Authors are notified of the retraction.
- A notice of retraction is published in the journal, indicating the reasons for the retraction and the sources of plagiarism.
- Authors may be banned from submitting future manuscripts to JEBI.
Author Responsibilities:
- Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cite all sources and contributions of others.
- Authors should avoid excessive self-citation and provide appropriate references to previous work.
- Authors must declare that their manuscript has not been submitted to or published in any other journal.
- Authors are required to use Mendeley Desktop for citation management and to ensure proper citation style.
- Authors should use tools like DeepL to improve the language quality of their manuscripts before submission.
